Liquid nitrogen sub-tank refers to a storage tank in which a plurality of sub-tanks containing LNG are connected in parallel and placed in a parent tank filled with insulating materials in a certain arrangement. It is usually built to meet the requirements of large-volume, pressurized storage, and it is widely used in the field of medium and large (1000m³~10000m³ storage scale) LNG gasification stations.

Liquid nitrogen sub-mother tank is composed of multiple sub-tanks, a mother tank and corresponding process pipelines, valves, instruments, etc.
Sub-tank: As the main container for the low-temperature medium, it is made of austenitic stainless steel S30408; the structure of is a vertical cylindrical leg structure. According to the size of the volume, 4, 7 or 10 sub-tanks are arranged in a certain arrangement. The gas and liquid phases of all or grouped sub-tanks are connected through pipelines.
Mother tank: As the protective shell of the thermal insulation system, Q345R/16MnDR material is usually used. The mother tank contains all the sub-tanks, and adopts powder accumulation insulation for cold preservation to ensure that the storage medium is as little as possible to vaporize.
