LNG vaporization stations can be divided into single-point direct supply vaporization stations and LNG satellite stations based on the different supply targets, used to receive, store, and vaporize upstream purchased LNG to supply gas locally. LNG vaporization stations can be seen as small LNG receiving stations, and some vaporization stations also have liquefaction facilities.
LNG has become the main gas source or transitional gas source for cities that cannot use pipeline natural gas, and it is also a supplementary gas source or peak-shaving gas source for many cities that use pipeline natural gas. LNG vaporization stations are receiving, storing, and distributing LNG satellite stations, and they serve as intermediate adjustment places for towns or gas companies to transfer LNG from manufacturers to users.
With the advantages of a short construction period and the ability to quickly meet market demand for gas, LNG vaporization stations have gradually been established in many economically developed and energy-scarce small and medium-sized cities along the southeast coast of China, becoming permanent gas supply facilities or transitional gas supply facilities before the arrival of pipeline natural gas.
The manufacturing and daily operation management of low-temperature storage tanks and filters have been incorporated into national regulations regarding the manufacturing, acceptance, and inspection of pressure vessels; there are no relevant regulations for vaporizers and low-temperature hydrocarbon pumps in the country, and American industry standards are followed during their manufacturing process. Any welding, modification, maintenance, or relocation of pressure vessels must be reported to the inspection unit of the pressure vessel.
